
INFORMATION, RULES AND HOW TO APPLY
Important dates:

The competition will take place between the 12th to 14th February 2026 in San Miguel de Abona, Tenerife, Spain.
​
The deadline for the competition entry is the 10. December 2025
-15. December 2025 - Preliminary Round Results Announced. ​​

-12. February 2026 - 10am registration and welcome meeting.
-12. February 2026 - 1st round
-13. February 2026 - 1st round
-14. February 2026 - Final
-14. February 2026 at 7.30pm -Prize giving ceremony followed by the winners concert.​​

Participation fee:
​
Entry fee is a non-refundable of 60€. This fee is not refundable, even when not passing to the next stages of the competition.
​
Who can apply:
​
The competition is open to string players (violin, viola, cello, and double bass) of all nationalities, up to 35 years of age at the time of the competition.
​
Competition Process:
Rounds
​
Preliminary round: Video recording. Video must be recorded without any cuts of a solo performance. NO PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT. Please upload your video to YouTube, and send us the link in your application form. The video must not be more than 8 minutes long.
​
Successful musicians will pass to the live part of the competition, taking place in Tenerife.
This will be notified by 15 December 2025.
1st Round: Live performance in Tenerife. First round must not exceed 10 minutes.
​
Final Round: Live performance in Tenerife. The Final must not exceed 20 minutes.
​
If your program is exceeding the time limit, this could result in the jury stopping the performance. This will not affect the jury's decision on the result of the competition. ​​

Repertoire:
​
Preliminary round: Video recording
Free choice of a Solo performance. NO PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT. No longer than 8 minutes. It can be one piece, a movement or combination of different pieces, without edits or cuts.

1st Round: Live performance in Tenerife ​
​
Solo performance (no piano accompaniment) which must not exceed 10 minutes of length. Program can be repeated from the preliminary round or different but must include at least:
​1) a solo movement from the baroque period.
2) a contrasting piece.
Final Round: Live performance in Tenerife
​
20 minutes of length. Free choice program with piano accompaniment of any style of an entire work or selection of movements from different works and must not be repeated from the previous rounds. ​​

Piano accompaniment:
There are two official accompanists in the competition. The fee is 50€ for the rehearsal + performances and must be paid together with the entry fee. This accompaniment fee is only refundable if not succeeding the preliminary round.
Alternatively, competitors can also bring their own pianist at their own expense.
​
Prizes:
The Grand Prix will be awarded to the best performer from all instruments and the Young Virtuoso Award to the best performer under the age of 17.

2nd Prize: 500€ & Diploma
3rd Prize: Diploma​
Young Virtuoso award: 150€ & Diploma

Jury:
The Jury is composed by renowned international musicians. Please find more details in the faculty section.
​
The decisions of the Jury are final. The Jury reserves the right to not award the Prize if it does not reach the competition standards.
The prizes can also be shared or ex aequo.
